Brit Floyd covers the legendary band, you guessed it, Pink Floyd. The concert I experienced was a whole experience in itself, never mind the music!
First, there were the lights. The pictures couldn't do it any justice, they were enamoring. The light show was on during all of the music, and I wouldn't want it any other way. At first, I was hesitant. They're just lights, what are they going to do that's so mind boggling? Oh boy, was I wrong. As the familiar music rang through my ears, I stood corrected by my prior thoughts. Streaks of light went flying, they didn't look like they were real. I felt like I was in my own universe, finding myself dumbfounded by them. Everything seemed to be in the right place at the right time. The lights would shine and reflect the songs, darker songs about war got red lights, while lighter songs shined bright with yellow.
Of course, there was music. That's what we went for. Brit Floyd covered everything I wanted, and I even found songs I'd never heard before. Popular songs like "Wish You Were Here" were really cool, but nothing could prepare me for the "Comfortably Numb" knockout. It was towards the end of the concert, but it really pulled everything together. The guitar solo in that song felt absolutely phenomenal. As the front man absolutely shredded for two straight minutes, the disco ball had made its entrance. Everything was starting to come together. That was the moment that I felt pure awe at something.
Brit Floyd tours this year, starting March of 2017. Be sure to get a ticket if you want to experience such a surreal night.
